Written and directed by Gus Van Sant. An unsolved murder at Portland's infamous Paranoid Park brings detectives to a local high school, propelling a young skater into a moral odyssey where he must not only deal with the pain and disconnect of adolescence but the consequences of his own actions. As director of MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO, GOOD WILL HUNTING, TO DIE FOR and ELEPHANT, Gus Van Sant has created some of the most memorable films about youth ever committed to film. At the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, he was awarded the 60th Anniversary Prize for Paranoid Park which is largely considered on of his finest films. Based on the novel by Blake Nelson and photographed by the incomparable Christopher Doyle (IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE), the film has captivated audiences worldwide, becoming a unanimous standout at the Cannes, New York and Toronto.

My Brother is an Only Child
Opens Friday May 16 See Google Calendar above for showtimes
Runtime: 108 min. MPAA Not Rated Foreign (Italian subtitles) Comedy / Crime / Drama
Already a smash in its native Italy, MY BROTHER IS AN ONLY CHILD, which was presented at this year’s Cannes and Toronto film festivals, reunites director Luchetti with longtime collaborators Sandro Petraglia and Stefano Rulli, best known as screenwriters of the highly acclaimed “The Best of Youth.” Set in a small Italian town in the 60’s and 70’s, the film tells the story of two brothers who want to change the world – but in completely different ways. What starts as a typical tale of sibling rivalry becomes the story of the polarizing and paralyzing politics of those turbulent times.

Young at Heart
Opens Friday May 23 See Google Calendar above for showtimes
Runtime: 107 min. MPAA Rated PG Documentary
The true story of the final weeks of rehearsal for the Young at Heart Chorus in Northampton, MA, whose average age is 81, and many of whom must overcome health adversities to participate. Their music is unexpected, going against the stereotype of their age group, performing songs, for example, by James Brown, and Sonic Youth. Although they have toured Europe and sang for royalty, this account focuses on preparing new songs, not an easy endeavor, for a concert in their home town, which succeeds in spite of several real heart breaking events.
A portion of all ticket sales will go to RSVP!
