In A Town This Size

“IN A TOWN THIS SIZE”

Sunday, June 5, 6:30pm, at Circle Cinema

Film and Community Awareness Panel presented by Empowering Adults, Protecting Children, a Tulsa non-profit focused on child sexual abuse prevention.

You think you already know how to stop child molesters in our environments…WHAT IF YOU DON’T?

“In A Town This Size” introduces an Oklahoma town and exposes its long-suppressed tragedy of childhood sexual abuse. The abuser, a prominent and trusted pediatrician is, through this film and for the first time, held accountable for the actions he cleverly perpetrated. Stories are told through poignant first-person interviews with his victims, their families and professionals. This film brings to viewers an unnerving familiarity with the lifelong devastation resulting from this type of abuse and a bone chilling picture of how a predator weaves his life into the community to avoid detection.

In addition to being named the Best Documentary Film at the Bare Bones Film Festival, “In A Town This Size” was screened and nominated for Best Feature Documentary at the Trail Dance Film Festival in Duncan, Oklahoma and was screened at the Litchfield Hills Film Festival in New Milford, Connecticut.
